This is a superb Art Deco bronze sculpture of 3 athletes, Allégorie de la vitesse (Allegory of speed) by Robert Delandre. Patinated bronze on a Belgian Black marble base. Signed to the bronze and foundry seal of Bronze Chardon, France, 1930. This sculpture is illustrated in: Art Deco and other figures, Brian Catley, Antique collectors club. Robert Delandre (6 October 1879, Elbeuf - 2 June 1961, Paris) was a French sculptor.
